Control is one of the best story-focused single player games in years. Things get a little weird from there but it is a fascinating, enjoyable and genuinely creepy game at times. We then hear Alan say, "Whatever you do, stay in the light".

Whereas we're actually excited for the return of Alan Wake nonetheless we are able to get it, we're simply as excited for an excuse to dive again into the world of Management; one of our favourite video games of 2019 and a wonderful return to type for developer Treatment Leisure.

During yesterday's PlayStation State of Play, Remedy Entertainment revealed that the Control AWE expansion is set to release on August 27 for all platforms. The pair will be showing off the first 15-minutes of gameplay from Awe as well as interview key team members about storytelling and much more. Follow Remedy on Twitch for live updates at

Looks like the AW in Control's odd Altered World Events (AWEs) is too good of a thing for Remedy to not add a little crossover magic. Jesse will need to explore a number of AWEs while in the sector, including one from the small town of Bright Falls, as seen in the Alan Wake titles (don't forget American Nightmare). As per above this second expansion will serve as a closing chapter of sorts for Control (for now). The expansion, which becomes available following the completion of the seventh main mission ("The Face of the Enemy") in the campaign, will require players enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within this long-abandoned part of the Bureau.

AWE will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Those who wish to can still purchase the season pass for $24.99 that also includes the first expansion. The Awe expansion can be purchased separately for $14.99.
