Ever since he beat Phillips and McKee, Chimaev has been all over social media calling out numerous fighters, including Conor McGregor.

This comes just a day after he tweeted the english version of the phrase, which many believed to be directed at surging UFC welterweight Khazmat Chimaev.

"That was (for) Khamzat", White told reporters, including MMA Junkie, after UFC on ESPN+ 31 weigh-ins.

Manny Pacquiao, the boxing legend McGregor seems to be after, has reportedly broken down in talks with a potential Terrence Crawford fight.

"Spoke to Conor McGregor briefly today".

The Irishman then tweeted "tinatanggap ko", which is Tagalog - the second language for the majority of people from the Philippines - for "I accept". "He declined to further elaborate what it was actually referring to, though".

McGregor previously teased a boxing bout with Pacquiao in January.

After his memorable loss to Floyd Mayweather the boxing ring back in 2017, McGregor returned to the UFC and took part in two fights against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Donald Cerrone.

'I had to go to his dressing room to try to cheer him up and he was still crying when I got in'. Conor McGregor, I'm going to finish him in the first round, brother. And even if he wasn't, White said there are many more relevant fights for him.

The former two-division UFC champion, McGregor, added another twist regarding his potential return to fighting when he tweeted the following this evening.

Moments later. Conor responded - "I accept!".

As things stand, McGregor is now retired from the sport.

The social media battle between Khamzat Chimaev and Conor McGregor seems to be escalating, with "Borz" pulling some familiar old catchphrases out of the book to fire back at McGregor on Twitter. Share your thoughts in the comments section PENN Nation!
