India's COVID-19 tally has breached the 17-lakh mark. The recovery rate of Corona patients has been 64.44%.

The positivity rate - percentage of patients who have tested positive for coronavirus - stood at 8.57 per cent this morning.

China reported 49 cases of the new coronavirus in the mainland for August 1, up from 45 cases a day earlier, the health commission said on Sunday. So far, a total of 16,95,988 positive cases of corona have been found in the country.


The COVID-19 fatality rate stands at 2.15%, and it is the lowest since the first lockdown announced on March 24, the ministry said. Israel and India are conducting trials on a large sample of patients for four different kinds of technologies that have the potential to detect COVID-19 in about 30 seconds, including a breath analyser and a voice test, according to the Israeli government.

India's Covid19 case fatality rate (CFR) dropped to 2.15 per cent, the lowest since the first lockdown started as the total active infections in the country went up to 5,65,103, almost 20,000 more than that reported on Friday. China reported 20 new asymptomatic cases, down from 23 a day earlier, reports Reuters. So, while Maharashtra and Delhi slowed down recording a daily growth of 1.5% and 2.9% respectively, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka grew at over a 7% rate.

As per the data provided by the Health Ministry, Maharashtra - the worst affected state from the infection - has a total of 1,49,214 active cases and 15,316 deaths.


"Serological survey for COVID-19 started from today in Delhi". 'Unlock 3.0'has begun. More than 1 lakh 40 thousand people have been infected here. The number of deaths has risen to 3,963, health authorities said. It was the fifth consecutive day with more than 60,000 infections recorded, according to the Baltimore-based university, reports AFP. The country also witnessed 764 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours.

At the same time, 5,65,103 infected patients are now being treated in the country.

So far, 674 people have died of COVID-19 in Rajasthan, 519 in Telangana, 421 in Haryana, 386 in Punjab, 377 in Jammu and Kashmir, 296 in Bihar, 177 in Odisha, 106 in Jharkhand, 98 in Assam, 80 in Uttarakhand, 73 in Kerala, according to the health ministry data.
