When asked Monday whether Trump believed the CDC was intentionally providing misinformation, as expressed in the president's retweet, McEnany deflected, blaming "some rogue individuals" for "leaking guidelines prematurely" on the agency's planned coronavirus response. While many other countries, particularly in the European Union, are recovering, there have been almost 60,000 new cases in the USA within the past day. Giroir said it was important to "get the virus under control" first.

"So are white people". I've been in consultation with the administration, as you can imagine. "And that may be one of the reasons why I haven't been on television very much lately", Fauci said.

"The president's disgusting attempt to pass the buck by blaming the top infectious disease expert in the country - whose advice he repeatedly ignored and Joe Biden consistently implored him to take - is yet another frightful and revealing failure of leadership as the tragic death toll continues to needlessly grow", said Andrew Bates, a spokesman for Democrat Biden's presidential campaign.
