Shadow Warrior 3 is literally about chasing the dragon

Devolver Digital has stealthily released a teaser trailer for a third entry into Shadow Warrior's rebooted franchise, Shadow Warrior 3. Recently, publisher Devolver Digital said that it was working with the team again on a new project.

Shadow Warrior 3 is officially out in the open, courtesy of a newly released teaser trailer.

The trailer stays true to the series' irreverent style of comedy, poking fun at the idea of a teaser trailer, the impending release of the gameplay trailer, and even the idea of showing off new features in trailers. As such, the FPS series' next entry will offer a "seamless blend" of melee combat, fast-paced gunplay, and free-running.

In Shadow Warrior 3, Lo Wang will find himself forming an unlikely alliance with erstwhile employer and nemesis Orochi Zilla, to recapture an ancient dragon "unwillingly unleashed" from its eternal prison (not that eternal, if it's on the loose).

Devolver will reveal the first gameplay footage for Shadow Warrior 3 on July 11th, during Devolver Direct 202. To truly succeed, Lo Wang must get a hold of a dead god's mask, a dragon's egg, magic, and the firepower necessary to dismantle the Shadowlands. Shadow Warrior 2 stands on its own as a frenzied yet fresh blending of genres that can easily enthral groups of players for hours at a time. The game is set to come out sometime in 2021.
