The suspension is another point of confrontation between the president and Jeff Bezos.

Reddit is banning r/The_Donald along with nearly 2,000 other online communities after updating its content policy to crack down harder on hate speech, the company announced on Monday. And the live-streaming platform Twitch has temporarily banned Trump over "hateful conduct".

YouTube, meanwhile, banned several prominent white nationalist figures from its platform, including Stefan Molyneux, David Duke and Richard Spencer.

Social media has spoken: Trump is officially cancelled.

Reddit, one of the most visited websites in the world, has a history of not censoring questionable content.

On Monday, Ford Motor Co. put the brakes on all national social media advertising for the next 30 days. The company said hate speech and violent and racial injustice content need to be eradicated from the sites. The latest Reddit's initiative comes after the site was criticized for years for not cracking down on hate speech. Each time, it adjusted its policies and the advertisers returned. He did not directly address the sites' actions.

The longtime pro-Trump subreddit used by "has consistently hosted and upvoted more rule-breaking content than average, antagonized us and other communities, and its (moderators) have refused to meet our most basic expectations", Reddit added. Reddit had previously tried to discipline the forum.

"Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch", a spokeswoman for the Amazon-owned company said in a statement.

"Reddit is a place for community and belonging, not for attacking people", said Steve Huffman, the company's CEO, in a call with reporters. Reddit said the group successfully stoked Trump's online base.

"However, limiting access to a broader public will have unintended negative consequences". According to the company, the majority of these communities were inactive and only around 200 had more than 10 daily active users. The Twitch account of Trump was made in last year October, to stream the rallies and campaigns of Trump's, for this year. One was at a recent rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Trump mentioned "a very tough hombre" breaking into someone's home. Apparently, the move was in response to comments made at recent Trump rallies, that Twitch claims violated its policies.

To be clear, views across the political spectrum are allowed on Reddit-but all communities must work within our policies and do so in good faith, without exception.

The announcement also included an explanation regarding Reddit's decision to ban a liberal subreddit, r/ChapoTrapHouse, dedicated to the leftist podcast.
