Maroon 5 bassist Michael "Mickey" Madden was arrested in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 27 following an allegation of domestic violence according to a report by The Mirror.

Details of the alleged domestic violence incident are now unclear, but a spokesperson for the LAPD told the Daily News that he was specifically charged with intimate partner violence.

A rep continued: "As we learn more, we are looking at this very seriously".

A spokesperson for Maroon 5 said they are devastated by the disappointing news.

Madden was previously arrested in 2016 after allegedly passing a vial of cocaine to a man in a NY bar. He accepted a conditional dismissal offer in exchange for a day of community service. His case was set to be dismissed once he completed the conditions of the deal.

According to Page Six, the star was first arrested on Saturday June 27, but news of his arrest was confirmed by major U.S. outlets on Wednesday, July 1.

The bassist, who is not married, was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon (27Jun20), and is now free on $50,000 (£40,300) bail. The hotline is available 24/7 in more than 170 languages.
