Multiple sources in Spain and England claim Manchester City are on the verge of signing Ferran Torres from Valencia, a former target for Juventus.

Sport understands the 20-year-old Spaniard is keen on a move to Etihad Stadium.

Ferran Torres is closer and closer to joining the Premier League from La Liga.

Torres has a €100m buy-out clause in his contract, but with only a year left on his deal, Valencia have been forced to accept a reduced price.

He would be City's first summer signing and replace Germany forward Leroy Sane, who has left the Premier League club for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

A deal for Torres is also expected to be announced soon after City beat a host of top European clubs for the Spain Under-21 global. They have been linked with a move for Bournemouth's Nathan Ake but sporting director Txiki Begiristain is expecting a "strange" transfer window.

"We have to be ready", he told City's official website.

City finished second in the Premier League this season behind Liverpool and is still in the Champions League where it leads Real Madrid 2-1 ahead of its last-16 second-leg match in Manchester next week. "It will be a unusual window because people have to move fast, we have to bring in players who can improve our squad but also it means that maybe someone can leave".
