July 4 weekend fuels worries about skyrocketing virus cases

Earlier this week, the state governor announced that DE beach bars would be closed for the holiday weekend. The daily US infection toll reported Saturday passed 50,000 for the third day in a row.

With the Covid-19 pandemic continuing to affect countries around the globe, the number of confirmed cases worldwide has now surpassed 11 million, with over 525,000 deaths worldwide, and the United States having the most confirmed cases and deaths in the world.

Florida's greater Miami area became the latest US coronavirus hot spot to roll back its reopening, ordering restaurant dining closed on Monday as COVID-19 cases surged countrywide by the tens of thousands and the USA death toll topped 130,000.

The US Facilities for Sickness Command and Prevention is now projecting the place will see practically 148,000 coronavirus deaths by the stop of the thirty day period.

Cases are constant in 13 states: Arkansas, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming.

For an eighth straight day, Texas registered an all-time high in the number of people hospitalized at any one moment with the highly contagious respiratory illness, up more than 500 admissions from the day before to almost 8,700.

The state has now surpassed the previous day's height of 11,434 in NY, which was recorded in mid-April. On Saturday, Florida and Texas reported more record daily increases in confirmed cases and virus-related deaths have begun to rise.

Florida reported 18 fatalities Saturday.

Despite the rapid increase in warnings and officials warning that Florida might be the new epicenter of the country, the governor said it is not planning to undo reopening measures.

In Texas, there were 8,258 new cases of Covid-19, according to the latest data released by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Alabama this week also set a record for infections reported in a day.

Hospitals in at least two Texas states hit their maximum capacity.

In Starr County, at the very least two individuals experienced to be flown out of the location for treatment.

"Local and valley hospitals are at full capacity and no more beds are available".

In Hidalgo County, Judge Richard Cortez asked residents to shelter in place and "only call 911 if absolutely necessary".
