They will also make sure there are generous servings of "moments of ironic humour and B-movie-nuclear-fantasies" which fans of the series will recognise and love.

Bethesda Amazon and Westworld creators are teaming up for a Fallout TV show. This, naturally, suggests that Amazon has every confidence Joy and Nolan will be able to do something special with Fallout. And soon, we may all be raving about the Fallout TV series. "Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends", said Joy and Nolan in a statement. The series is immensely popular, with many games released under the Fallout name over the past two decades, the latest beingFallout 76.

For those of you keeping score at home, Fallout signals the first major project to be given the green light after the WESTWORLD creators/executive producers inked an overall deal with Amazon Studios. Joy wrote the script, which landed on The Black List, and produced with her Kilter Films partner Nolan, Michael De Luca and Aaron Ryder.

The show - now in development, with a series commitment from Amazon Studios - is part of Nolan and Joy's overall deal with streaming service, which they signed past year for a reported $150 million.

The Fallout franchise has posted record sales and has received dozens of Game of the Year Awards. Their Kilter Films banner is producing the project which has a series commitment penalty attached, meaning it would go directly to series if Amazon execs are on board with the scripts. "And Jonah and Lisa are the flawless storytellers to bring this series to life", said Cheng.

Amazon later confirmed the news in a tweet.

"Fallout is an iconic global franchise, with legions of fans worldwide and a rich, deeply compelling storyline that powers it", Amazon Studios COO and TV co-head Albert Cheng added.

Bethesda had previously expressed interest in a Fallout film as early as 2009. The company also has a massive budget Lord of the Rings series in the works now. This news comes to us via Bethesda.
