These samples will then be brought back to Earth by a future mission. Leveraging its AI expertise, strengths as a knowledge platform, and more than 230 million daily active users (DAUs), Baidu App is proud to be an exclusive partner of China's first Mars mission to inform netizens about this historic moment in China's space exploration.

NASA had originally planned to launch its new rover on July 17, but the mission was delayed to July 30, according to the USA space agency.

Last November, China successfully conducted a test landing of the rover. There is another Orbiter, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter that allows you to expand the canal. The orbiter will remain in the orbit for scientific operations and to relay signals while the lander-rover combination makes an autonomous descent and landing.

Ouyang expressed his belief that China had the capacity to excel at space exploration.

Scientists will have a substantially greater chance of confirming lifestyle on Mars if they can evaluate the evidence utilizing all the analytical resources available in Earth laboratories, as opposed to just the tiny suite of devices carried by a robot rover.

According to Xinhua, the CNSA launched its Tianwen-1 mission on Thursday, 23 July at 12:41 PM Beijing time (10:11 AM IST).

"This mission is emblematic of our nation's spirit of assembly issues head-on and discovering options collectively", NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine said on Wednesday after the mission handed its Flight Readiness Assessment. Their rover will also make use of lessons learned by NASA's previous Mars rovers.

"I really don't think we are going to ever be necessarily 100% absolutely sure due to the fact that is a hard measurement to make, which is why the sample-return part of Perseverance is so critical". Mars 2020 will do plenty of in situ science, but also will do something new.

India also became the first country to have entered the Martian orbit in its first attempt. The Company's mission is to make the complicated world simpler through technology. Ingenuity could pave the way for extensive exploration of the Martian skies.

For decades now, scientists have known that the Red Planet once held vast oceans, and possibly life.

"But if we start off viewing intriguing factors on the area of Mars that we cannot clarify in the spectra, then we will glance again to the calibration goal to make positive that the instrument's operating the right way".

This is a software that incorporates two imagers and two laser spectroscopes, which collectively will look into the geology of the rover's landing website - a 40km-wide crater referred to as Jezero.

If NASA can meet its launch window, which runs via August 15, 2020, then Perseverance and Ingenuity will arrive on the Martian floor in February 2021.

"The more we know about Mars, the better prepared we are to send humans there and get them home safely", Ken Williford, deputy project scientist for the Mars 2020 mission, told UPI.

The launch is the first time China has independently sent a mission to another planet. The Tianwen-1 mission is actually a combination of spacecraft - consisting of an orbiter and a lander/rover duo.
