The two European elites conducted lengthy negotiations over the deal which will see Juventus pay Barca up to 82 million euros for Arthur, while Pjanic moves in the opposite direction for a 60 million euro fee, plus five millon euros in variables, reports Xinhua news agency.

Juventus director Fabio Paratici said Miralem Pjanic would only leave for Barcelona after the Bosnian midfielder agreed to join the LaLiga champions. The purchase value may increase of maximum 10 million euros on achieving given conditions during the course of the contract.

Like Pjanić, the 23-calendar year-outdated will not go to his new club until eventually the finish of the current season.

Barcelona manager Quique Setien has meanwhile included Arthur in his squad to face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday as he backed him to put his looming transfer to one side.

By selling Arthur, the board can register the profits from the transfer immediately before spreading the payments for Pjanic over the length of the 30-year-old's contract. He was brought up in Luxembourg and initially made his name in French football with Metz and then Lyon.

Barcelona are two points adrift of leaders Real Madrid with six league games remaining and the Brazilian looks set to be available for the Spanish club when the Champions League resumes in August.

Both Barcelona and Juventus are looking to end their respective seasons with a league title.

"We expect the greatest commitment from him until the last day he is here", Setien said.
