35 new COVID-19 cases in Windsor

This is the lowest increase in new cases in Ontario, which has seen 35,656 COVID-19 cases in total, in over a week, according to Global News.

Elliott says 29 of 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer new cases with 16 reporting no new cases.

Ottawa Public Health releases the local COVID-19 statistics at 2 p.m. daily.

"We did deploy EMO down there along with the Red Cross, along with Ontario Health and public health", Ford said Friday during a Queen's Park news conference. There are also two active outbreaks at area long-term care homes.

The province completed 21,425 tests in the last 24 hour period, marking 11 straight days provincial labs have reached the 20,000 test threshold.

Five more people have died since yesterday.

Hospitalizations continue to fall while the number of patients in the ICU and an ventilators remained relatively unchanged.

Premier Doug Ford has deployed Ontario's emergency management team to Essex County to battle the COVID-19 crisis sweeping through the migrant farm sector.

As of Saturday, there have been 1,656 cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex, including 994 people who have recovered. Of those, 31,083 - or 87 per cent - are resolved.
