NY and several other major USA cities have become the centers of mass anti-police-brutality protests, sparked by the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, during an attempted arrest by a white officer.

Startling video of the heinous incident was caught on video and circulated widely on social media on Monday. Gunshots can be heard in the video as police drag their counterpart out of the road.

Moments later, there was the sound of firearms discharging off camera, then officers ran as an SUV barrelled through a cluster of officers, who ran.

"There was no altercation that precipitated the vehicle mowing into police officers, but that is still under investigation", said Brown. A similar incident was recorded in the city of Buffalo, New York State, where a auto plowed through a group of police officers. The officers can be seen running to get away from the SUV as it accelerates through the intersection.

The trooper and officer are reportedly in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center and the suspected driver and passengers appear to be in custody, according to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

Buffalo Police spokesman Michael DeGeorge said two people were struck by gunfire during Monday's protest.

As a police helicopter flew overhead, officers in armored vehicles later asked the crowd to disperse and fired tear gas within a few blocks of where the police were struck.
