Speaking of cameras, smartphone camera technology has advanced so much, it's replaced many point and shoot cameras today.

Xiaomi's upcoming smartphone, codenamed CAS, could have a 108-megapixel digital camera with 120x zoom, in accordance to reviews.

After launching Mi 10 and Mi Note smartphones with a 108MP camera, the company is reportedly launching another smartphone with the high-resolution sensor. Various reports have hinted another Xiaomi smartphone with a 108MP primary camera in development.

The report mentions that the Chinese electronic manufacturer has been working on the release of the smartphone since the beginning of 2020. The phone is said to be code-named CAS and may be called the Xiaomi Mi CC10 when it launches sometime in July. The camera capabilities are expected to be even more enhanced than the Mi 10. The phone also includes a 5-megapixel telephoto lens for 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom, 5x optical zoom and OIS. The Xiaomi Mi 10 is the brand's first smartphone to sport a 108-megapixel camera, but it looks like it isn't going to be the only one. The report mentions the optical zoom to be at 12x and that 120x shall be what Xiaomi will promote. Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra's Bright HM1 sensor, Xiaomi will use a different sensor codenamed HM2. The report also notes that the zooming technology on the new smartphone is higher than others now in the market.

In the end, it seems that Xiaomi is still lagging behind in the realization of the flawless smartphone in terms of photography.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has the very best zoom functionality at 100x magnification, which Samsung advertises as 100X Space Zoom. However, these are still rumors and advice our readers to take it with a grain of salt.
