New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Scioto County

In a news release, the county said that there are now over 4,000 tests awaiting results, a result of the state of Texas mandating that 2% of the population and 100% of nursing home residents and staff be tested. Currently, the county has had 24 positive cases, and 21 of those cases have recovered.

Person County has surpassed 50 COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, according to the county Health Department.

The health departments are conducting contact tracing for the two new cases per CDC and ODH protocol.

The department's Tuesday announcement stated that the county has seen 53 total cases.

Statewide, the positive count is now at 19,956 cases.

Dr. Jose Vazquez, Starr County health authority, said the man acquired the virus through contact with an individual who previously tested positive for COVID-19. The state reported 1,606 COVID-19 cases in McHenry County, giving the county a 12.2% positivity rate. Nine COVID-19 patients remain at Putnam Hospital. There have been 24,023 reported deaths due to COVID-19 in NY.

On Day 94 of the pandemic, there were 22 new COVID-19 cases in Putnam, bringing the total to 1,451 positive cases since the outbreak began.

There are 18 individuals being monitored at home.
