An interesting thing to add to your knowledge is that Mitron is the replica of the TicTok clone app called TicTic.

Satyajit Sinha, cybersecurity researcher at Counterpoint told "It's risky to use Mitron app given it doesn't have any additional firewall or software security on top of the source code". As far as privacy policy of Mitron is concerned, the developers have finally put up a webpage after an update on May 29.

Mitron, the much touted desi version of TikTok, appears to have a "Pakistan connection" as the source code of the app was originally made by developers from Pakistan, the media reported. Google has to remove some of the bad reviews as the app was getting a lot of bad reviews after Google has removed the reviews the rating of the app went up to 1.4. Just for reference, Qboxus is the company that had developed the TicTac app.

The app is not made in India and it is a rebranded version of the Pakistani app known as TicTic.

"We expect our customers to use our code and build something on their own. But Mitron's developer has taken our exact product, changed the logo and uploaded it on their store", Sheikh told News18. He added to Network 18, "There is no problem with what the developer has done". He paid for the script and used it, which is okay. But the problem is with people and the media referring to it as Indian made app which is not the truth. "We have clones of Tinder, Badoo too available", he said.

"It's a direct copy of the TicTic app".

People are understanding the need for relying on Indian made products, over the foreign competitors. "You can ask your technical team to download both (TikTok and Mitron) apps and test it" said Sheikh from Lahore.

Sheikh countered that it is wrong to think Qboxus can put data of millions at stake.

Irfan said that he has no issues with the creator and the rebranding of the app, he just wants to clarify that the app is not created in India.

The source code for this app is said to be developed by a company in our neighboring country. The app is free to download on Google Play Store and now not available on iOS.
