We already know that there are quite a few issues with the feature update, and Microsoft is also actively blocking the update for some people.

So once you've backed up your critical files-at minimum-here are all the different ways you can install the Windows 10 May 2020 update, including a couple that will help you if Windows hasn't served it up to you directly just yet. Anyone for whom the update is blocked is being shown a message informing that that their "device isn't quite ready" to receive the May 2020 Update.

Known as Windows 10 May 2020 Update, while there's a lot to like in the latest version of the operating system, the company has also confirmed some problems and is not encouraging everyone to rush out and download the new software.

In this article, we have shared some of the noteworthy features of this update, followed by a long list of known issues of this update.

Synaptics and Microsoft have found incompatibility issues with certain versions of drivers for Conexant ISST audio driver and Windows 10, version 2004 (the Windows 10 May 2020 Update).

Run the Upgrade Assistant app and you should be able to download and install the Windows 10 May 2020 update without any issue.

Once you get the update, Windows 10 will have a revamped Cortana interface, faster Windows search, and even a new Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL2) with a real Linux kernel. "There's nothing you need to do at this time".

Because these feature updates are large and more complex than they were in Windows 7 and 8, they have a higher chance to break existing features and cause instabilities. Instead of releasing entire new versions, Microsoft designed Windows 10 as a continually evolving operating system, releasing new features and enhancements to its functionality every year.

Also, you must keep in mind that at this point, Windows 10 May 2020 Update shows up on Windows Update only if you're now running version 1903 (May 2019 Update) or version 1909 (November 2019 Update). Some of the annoying issues include unexpected errors or reboots, inability to connect more than one Bluetooth device, no mouse input with apps and games, and many more. In order to safeguard your PC, you can avoid installing this update. Once the reliability of the update is improved and everything is further polished, version 2004 can reach broad availability and thus be offered to devices via Windows Update as an automatic update.
