Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday enunciated four guiding principles that will form the foundation for coronavirus COVID-19 vaccination, as and when the vaccine is available.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday issued new guidelines for loosening restrictions as part of "Unlock 2", the second of the three-phase plan for a calibrated exit from the lockdown.

The announcement came after Indian government banned 59 mobile applications, including top social media platforms such as TikTok, Helo and WeChat to counter threat posed by these applications to country's "sovereignty and security".

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation at 4:00 pm tomorrow amid rising tensions between India and China. "Our courageous soldiers made it clear that they will not allow anyone to taint the honour of Mother India", he added. "Keeping in mind the requirement of the country, whatever you do, comes under this very spirit of service", PM Modi added. Their valour will always be remembered. Families who lost their sons still want to send their other children to the defence forces.

China said today it was concerned about India's decision to ban mobile apps and was making checks to verify the situation.

PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the planning and preparations of the vaccine.

In his monthly "Mann ki Baat" radio programme on Sunday, Modi had appealed to people to be more cautious in the "Unlock" phases and follow all safety measures.

India defied the fears of the world's top-most experts in this regard, according to Modi.
