Android 10 is setup to handle sRGB color space images for wallpapers and the developers didn't include any safeguards against using non-sRGB images.

In a statement on the Android Developer website, it said: "Now is not the time to celebrate", and more details would be shared "soon".

To recall, Google released Android 11 Developer Preview 1 back in February, whereas the latest Android 11 DP4 is the newest and last developer preview as per the company's Android 11 road map. The company promised to publish more information about the new version of Android "in the near future", but did not give an exact date. Android Auto would have been counted among them, but it looks like a new set of icons has been silently swapped in for the Google Maps navigation interface. "We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release".

Google announced Saturday that it will delay the unveiling of its new Android 11 operating system.

It's not explicitly stated, but it would appear the ongoing unrest and protests in the United States, sparked by the death of George Floyd, are the reason behind the move.

Beta 1 release moves to June 3. Now is not a good time to hold an event like that, even if it is online only. So it was likely just due to the global pandemic which has affected the manufacturing of the Pixel 4a, and likely would affect the sales of the device. In the second quarter of 2018, almost 88 per cent of all smartphones sold used the Android operating system, according to market researcher Statista. Most recently, in 2018, the Google Pixel 2XL got a minor Android 9 Pie patch before its official release.

The release of Android 11 for testers has also been delayed.
