Facebook confirmed to Social Media Today that the feature is only now available for "a small percentage of users globally", which hints that the company may be slowly rolling out the feature first for testing purposes.

Facebook has started rolling out dark mode for its mobile app, according to a report from SocialMediaToday.

As per the report and screenshots provided in the report, the option to select the dark mode on Facebook will appear in the Settings & Privacy section of the app. With the addition of Dark Mode on the main Facebook app, the whole family of Facebook apps will have support for the dark theme. These include WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger and Facebook Lite. The latter already received dark mode in February.

This followed users of the app claiming they were able to switch to the feature on devices running iOS 13.

The company previously rolled out the feature alongside its redesigned desktop Facebook site to a limited number of users in January 2020.

Exactly when the Facebook mobile app will update in full with dark mode in tact, however, doesn't yet have an official date stamped on it. The major highlight of the new design was the support for dark mode.

Similar to mobile experience, the new desktop website is faster with new streamlined navigation, easy to find videos, games and Groups, while the home page and page transitions load faster.
