The initial reports suggested that Arthur would join Juventus as part of a swap deal which would see Miralem Pjanic join Barcelona.

The move has now been confirmed, with Barcelona announcing that Juventus will pay them a base fee of €72 million, with an additional €10 million in variables.

Curiously, Arthur has played in two seasons for Barcelona, accumulating total of 72 games until June 29, 2020.

"The player will remain at FC Barcelona until the end of official competition in the 2019-20 season".

Sky Sports News exclusively revealed last week that the two clubs had agreed a deal for the 23-year-old Brazilian, who had repeatedly stressed he did not want to leave the Nou Camp this summer.

But Arthur could say goodbye to Barcelona with more games in his personal account because the club has informed, in addition, that the player will follow to the orders of Quique Setién until the season finishes.

In principle, the idea is for Arthur to finish the season at Barcelona.

Pjanic joined Juventus from Roma in 2016 as he produced 22 goals and 36 assists in 171 appearances.

By selling Arthur, the board can register the profits from the transfer immediately before spreading the payments for Pjanic over the length of the 30-year-old's contract.

"Concerning Pjanic, we are sure that he will stay with us until the end of August", said coach Maurizio Sarri.
