Vivo has planned an event in China on 1st June to launch its latest Vivo X50 smartphone.

One of the teaser videos shows off the camera module with a periscope telephoto camera along with two normal camera lenses.

The inspiration for the main lens stabilizer is in the chameleon's eyes and, in addition to this lens, three others make up the rear scheme of the X50 Pro model. The video, posted on Weibo, features the camera module, with a creepy cyclops-esque camera sensor set atop a robotic Doc Ock-armed device. Vivo added that even when extended to 1/4 seconds, the X50 Pro's shots looked just as good as the 1/8-second shots with traditional OIS. The video caption says "micro-gimbal super-sensing night shot". (For the nerds out there, the sample photos provided by Vivo came in at 12 megapixels each.) The company explained that this filter offers improved transmittance in all RGB channels, thus boosting the overall light sensitivity by about 10 percent when compared to traditional filters.

A few reports also suggest that the phone could feature recently launched Samsung's new ISOCELL GN1 sensor. Vivo product manager posted about a sensor on Weibo highlighting specs.

From the video, it appears that the X50 Pro will sport a rectangular camera island with four sensors on its back. The main USP of this phone is going to be the camera setup on the rear.

It is possible that one of the sensors of the device is the ISOCELL GN1, from Samsung, which was revealed later this week. We expect more details to surface online ahead of the official launch.
