National Football League superstar Tom Brady has become the butt of bad jokes and left the reputation of his clothing sponsor in tatters after an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on the golf course.

Brady did at least conjure up the shot of the day, a sensational hole-out from the fairway at the par-five seventh which earned a $100,000 donation from Brooks Koepka, but that was a rare good strike from the legendary National Football League quarterback who claims a handicap of 8.1.

That hole secured Brady a par score on the front nine at the Medalist Club in Hobe Sound, Florida.

Brady, paired with Phil Mickelson, battled against Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning at "The Match: Champions for Charity" on Sunday.

"I take my hat off to Tom and Peyton", said Woods.

"I split my trousers", Brady said after revealing his shiny underwear during a live broadcast of the event. Brady seemed to take it well, too, and even asked Charles Barkley for swing tips at one point - who instead offered to donate $50,000 if Brady could hit the green on the fourth hole.

"Despite everyone else wanting to play it elsewhere. It's his home course but Tom and I are going to go down there and put it to them, and we'll make it that every time Tiger shows up at his home course, he'll have a bad memory".

"So we'll just be 8-up through nine - something like that".
