Over three months after its official debut, Sony's Xperia 1 II flagship phone will finally go on sale in the United States market. B&H quickly stopped the pre-order process and took down the listing as those enamored with the handset's 4K screen and photography features hoped that the pricing was mistakenly too high.

Sony Xperia 1 II features a 6.5-inch (1644x3840pixels) 4K HDR OLED display with tall 21:9 aspect ratio, 21:9 aspect ratio, Motion Blur Reduction and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

However, if you pre-order by June 28 then you'll also get a pair of Sony WF-1000XM3 true wireless earbuds thrown in. There are stereo speakers at the front and the support for 3.5mm headphones is also available.

The smartphone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU. The phone comes with 8GB of memory and 256 GB of expandable storage. Sony has been releasing videos that show off some of the phone's features for taking photographs and recording movies. That never happened as the MWC was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak, so Sony soft-launched the phone online, revealing all of its specs, but not its price or date of availability. You get a trio of 12MP rear cameras (OIS on the primary and telephoto lens) and an 8MP selfie snapper. The device will ship starting on July 24th from Sony authorized resellers.

The Xperia 1 II is loaded with a 4,000mAh battery and it comes with 21W USB-PD fast charging, Qi Wireless charging. The phone goes on pre-orders in the U.S. from 1 June onwards and start shipping from 24 July onwards.

In addition to the impacts of the pandemic, Sony will continue to face keen competition from Samsung, Motorola (Lenovo), Huawei, Xiaomi and LG in Latin America, the sources added, noting that Sony Mobile's share in the region has fallen to around 1% recently. It also features Dolby Atmos sound, tuned in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment, to deliver a multi-dimensional surround sound experience.
