Lockdown may have stopped much of daily life, but it looks like it's nearly business as usual in Samsung's smartwatch department.

Two watches codenamed the SM-R840/845 and SM-R850/855 have received the Compulsory Certification of China from regulators - according to Sammobile which means a launch might not be far off. It is among the information that Samsung developed the new processor with a 6 nm production process.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 2 could get imminent release date

Two codenames points to two sizes, so we're likely looking at the similar 40mm and 44mm to the existing Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 or the 42mm/46mm versions from the original Galaxy Watch.

As for whether these are the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 3 or Samsung Galaxy Watch 2, that's less clear.

We also previously heard that the watch will have 8GB of storage capacity (mostly for playing music offline), and a large 330 mAh battery.

The next big technological boom of 2020 is 5G technology, and we continuously see new phones featuring 5G capabilities and expect that The Galaxy Note 20 will receive this treatment as-well. As per a new report from ZDNet Korea, Samsung is working on a new chipset called Exynos 992 that might debut on the Galaxy Note 20. But given the widespread disruption caused by the global lockdown, all bets are off for 2020.

And a bunch of unlucky buyers know this best, as the Galaxy S20 has started experiencing a mysterious issue that has the camera glass experience cracks of even shatter all of a sudden.

What we can say with near-certainty is that the new watch will feature more health and fitness-based tech than ever, and with a focus on wellbeing too and sleep tracking, too.
