"Our goal has always been to bring Valorant to as much of the world as soon as possible, so we're hyped to be able to do so on June 2", says Donlon in an official press release.

The game will be exiting its closed beta status on 28th of May which will in due course enable the Developer team at Riot to reset player accounts, induce new patch updates in the game thus decking up a for their most anticipated launch of their project.

"When we first announced this game, we set a very ambitious launch date of summer 2020", executive producer Anna Donlon said in a video Thursday.

Although the launch is cited as a worldwide one, it's worth noting that Riot Games say that "there are still some regions that we can't get to just yet, like Vietnam, India, the Middle East, and a few others", so if you're in one of those regions, you might have to hold out a little longer.

A new character, game mode, and combat map will be released along with the new game, as well as several new weapon designs.

During the VALORANT closed beta, the game averaged nearly three million players daily, Donlon said.

Valorant is Riot's new 5v5 tactical shooter mixed in with some light hero elements. Everyone will tackle the game - and its new content - from the beginning. The only way to gain access to the beta was to watch a stream of someone else playing the game and get a code, something that will be going away with the full release. "All of you, even those that are still waiting to play, are the beginnings of a global community of players that we hope to serve for years or maybe even decades to come".
