Qualcomm is asserting its first chips with assist for Wi-Fi 6E, the brand-new model of Wi-Fi that must be quicker and extra dependable due to its entry to an expansive further vary of airwaves over which to broadcast.

These platforms introduce Qualcomm Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6, offering simultaneous operation in 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz frequency bands and are the first to offer support for up to 2,000 simultaneous users while created to deliver full network capacity in a 16-stream Wi-Fi 6E configuration.

With the Wi-Fi 6E-enabled chipset, devices will be able to use the 6GHz frequency when other frequencies are being used by other devices.

"We see this announcement from Qualcomm Technologies as a positive step forward in what's possible for networking across the industry", said David Henry, senior vice president of Connected Home Products and Services for NETGEAR.

Qualcomm promises a very latency with the new Wi-Fi 6E.

New portfolio extends advanced Wi-Fi 6 feature implementations into the 6 GHz band. However, it can still reach peak speeds of 2.9 Gbps.

FastConnect 6900 is the faster of the two chips with speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps - which according to Qualcomm makes it the industry's fastest mobile Wi-Fi chip.

It dramatically expands Wi-Fi capacity by adding up to 1200MHz of additional spectrum, more than doubling the number of pathways now available for sending and receiving data. Both embrace assist for the utmost measurement of Wi-Fi channels (160MHz on 5GHz and 6GHz).

- Full band coverage and support for high performance upstream and downstream MU-MIMO, OFDMA wireless technology.

New Wi-Fi 6 Uplink MU-MIMO capability can increase network capacity by more than 2.5x. This way, users can experience improved gaming thanks to the reliability and speed given by this technology.

14nm process node combined with advanced power-management architecture provides up to 50 percent improvement in power efficiency, compared to previous generation solutions.

Also, the new standard support superior Bluetooth audio with Qualcomm aptX Adaptive supporting wire-equivalent audio (up to 96kHz) and Qualcomm aptX Voice providing super-wideband quality calls.

- When used with Qualcomm's QCC5141, QCC5144, QCC3046, QCC3040 audio SoCs, users can enjoy robust, premium sound quality with low power consumption.

"As consumer expectations for always-on, flawless streaming video and crystal-clear audio continue to grow dramatically worldwide, modern applications and devices face increasing challenges with respect to battery life, data rates, range and security", said Bryan Chang, General Manager of the ASUS Phone business unit.
