Prince William and Kate Middleton Surprise Nursing Home Bingo Players

Shire Hall is one of the many care homes that has had to adapt how it provides residential, nursing, and dementia care during the current coronavirus crisis, including increased use of different technologies to allow residents to keep in touch with their families and friends.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been reaching out to communities across the UK.

In the video, William and Kate take turns announcing the numbers.

He called for more to be done to prepare emergency workers and volunteer responders for the traumatic experiences they will face at work.


"George would like this one", Kate says.

He showed he was no stranger to traditional bingo lingo when he said: "One little duck, number two".

The charity's founder Corinne Hutton was given a five per cent chance of surviving sepsis in 2013 and had her hand amputated and legs amputated below the knee.

Kate Middleton is now spending quarantine working from home and homeschooling her kids-you know, just like a lot of us, except likely in a much bigger house and with two future Kings of England.


They haven't done so well in the bingo there.
When considering the royal novices' performance, residents were heard saying that it "wasn't as good as it should have been" and "they haven't done so well in the bingo there". How did we do at bingo?

Her carer, Margaret Jones, also echoed Ms Drew-Smith's comments and said: "They haven't done so well in the bingo there".

"We'll try and do a bit better at bingo next time".

The call highlighted the work of Lifelines Scotland, which helps emergency responders and volunteers learn how to cope with stress and look after their own mental health.


He was also told of the innovative ways thought up to put vulnerable children at ease, including staff printing photos of themselves smiling and pinning them to their front, while they are wearing masks or visors. "Do you think that's going to play heavily on your services and what they'll need?"
