Thankfully, Apple has just released iOS 13.5 which makes unlocking your iPhone slightly less frustrating.

Apple Update Alerts When Someone With Covid-19 Is Near

Apple's latest iOS 13.5 iPhone update includes new features related to the coronavirus pandemic, including one that makes it easier to unlock a phone while wearing a mask.

Apps that use the ‌Exposure Notification‌ API will allow you to receive notifications should you come into contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and wants to share that information. What we've built is not an app - rather public health agencies will incorporate the API into their own apps that people install. If you've got an iOS 13-capable device, you can grab your update by going into Settings General Software Update. These are major software updates that follow iOS 13.4.1 and iPadOS 13.4.1. The objective of these contact-tracing apps is to notify people when they may have been in contact with an infected person. There won't be any changes, unless you have installed an app that uses the API. The two tech giants released this new software Wednesday so public health authorities can use Apple-Google technology to create COVID-19 contact-tracing apps that will vary by state. You can find this feature in Settings Privacy Health COVID-19 Exposure Logging. We detail Apple and Google's Exposure Notification system in our guide here.

Earlier, iPhone users wearing a mask would have to wait for the phone to first try to ID your face and only then provide the option of entering the passcode. If a person has tested positive for Covid-19, their iPhone can share a list of everyone they've been in contact with to the cloud. It also includes the option to control the expanding video tiles when you're in a Group FaceTime call. This also works when the user is authenticating with the App Store, Apple Books, Apple Pay, iTunes and other apps which support signing in with Face ID.

Now that payment deadlines have been relaxed due to COVID-19, the Moneycontrol Ready Reckoner will help keep your date with insurance premiums, tax-saving investments and EMIs, among others.
