The launch of the iPhone 12 should occur in the second half of the year.

Prosser, who correctly reported the release date of the iPhone SE, said that there is also the possibility that a later iPhone 12 launch event could allow more reporters and analysts to attend in person. WeeklyVoice.com reports that 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models will be available with 128GB or 256GB of storage and that 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro models will have 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Hype for the Apple iPhone 12 has been building rapidly over the past couple of months, with the American maker's incoming flagship reported to come loaded with lighting fast 5G connectivity, a LiDAR-packing new camera system, an incendiary new A14 Bionic processor, and a suite of advanced new hardware features. Rumors are that iPhone 12's box will not include headphone airpods this time.

The analyst estimates that Apple may also cut the price of AirPods, as the latest model in the line has been on the market for more than a year.

Ever since Apple lost the 3.5mm headphone jack, the company first bundled EarPods but included an adapter. The report cites sources which said, "As Apple is likely to accelerate dropping its wired earphones, the vendor will resume normal shipments for AirPods 2 in the second half of the year and its new over-ear headphones, dubbed ‌AirPods Studio‌, has also kicked off production, all securing growth momentum for rigid-flex boards suppliers for the devices, including Unitech Printed Circuit Board and Compeq Manufacturing". While you technically can use AirPods with Android and Windows devices, they clearly work best within Apple's ecosystem.

Through Apple retail, customers can buy a pair of EarPods for $29 and the base model AirPods start at $159.

The company will look to increase demand for its AirPods by not offering the free earphones.
This could be one of the "promotion plan" strategies Kuo refers to.
