As for what sort of videos you'll find at Quibi when it debuts, the library will consist of things to keep viewers entertained, inspired, and otherwise informed.

It remains to be seen if Quibi catches on as a mainstream service, but giving T-Mobile customers a free year is a smart move on its part.

Quibi, which was founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, is focused on short-form videos ideal for mobile consumption. Starting April 6, Quibi will send forth thousands of episodes, each 10 minutes or less, created by an imposing array of accomplished filmmakers. Names like Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, Chance the Rapper, Liam Hemsworth, and Reese Witherspoon are all making little shows for it. Quibi says that it already has 90 shows lined up.

Quibi is subscription-based ($4.99/month) service with mobile-first videos made for "in-between" moments throughout the day. So long as you redeem the offer by July 7 on your T-Mobile account and have two or more lines of service, the carrier will give you a full year of Quibi so you can stream your heart out.

Customers will also receive Netflix for free for a year and then can choose to continue with one or the other, T-Mobile said. But the details of the deal itself were not yet announced nor confirmed by T-Mobile at that time. It's enlisted celebrities and has a patent-pending technology called Turnstyle that lets you switch between portrait and landscape viewing modes - though there's some debate over that. You'll have to maintain a Magenta family plan with at least two lines, but you'll only get Quibi on one screen per family. "It comes on the scene with a totally different experience, made for mobile, quick to watch and as entertaining as anything you've ever seen!" Customers who sign up by April 3 can get early access to three bonus episodes of Quibi's new Jennifer Lopez series, Thanks A Million when Quibi launches.

"T-Mobile customers have always been ahead of the curve-streaming more data, watching more mobile video-so when we first heard about Quibi, we knew our customers would love it", Mike Sievert, T-Mobile's newly named president and CEO, said in a statement. T-Mobile also notes that First Responder, Military and Magenta Plus 55 plans are eligible.

Meg Whitman, CEO of Quibi, added: "Since Quibi is built for an optimal mobile experience, we chose T-Mobile as our exclusive wireless launch partner". Plus, on April 7, five lucky people who enter the T-Mobile Tuesdays sweepstakes at https://www.t-mobiletuesdays.com will win a free Google Pixel 4 XL.
