Donald Trump Trashes Chuck Schumer In Letter

Senator Schumer from NY previously sent a letter to the White House criticising the U.S. president's handling of the COVID-19 situation in the United States. "If they did, they would likely win", Trump wrote.

After Trump's letter was released, aides to Schumer released a background memo showing the two leaders have had many phone calls this week, including two Thursday, the last of which included the president saying he was sending a "very nasty letter" that he might apologize for after the fact. The Democrat responded during an appearance on MSNBC. "I say to the president, 'Just stop the pettiness". Stop the pettiness. Let's get it done. "Let's roll up our sleeves", Schumer said. In addition, writes Donald Trump, among other things, that NY has been offered many things; hospitals, more drugs and a record number of respirators. Both figures were far greater than those for any other state.

"I've known you for many years, but I never knew how bad a Senator you are for the state of NY, until I became President", Trump added.

Democrats and other critics have said Trump's state-based plan has resulted in shipment delays, price gouging as states compete for supplies, and other problems.

And the general dagger delivered by means of the President involved Schumer's electoral long term.

"When I sent Pres. Trump a serious letter on getting critical medical supplies to our frontline fighters, he responded with a petty, unserious letter", Schumer tweeted.

"I sent the letter with the best of intentions", Schumer added.

Schumer also appeared on CNN on Wednesday to urge Trump to appoint a senior officer to direct the administration's use of the Defense Production Act, which would force companies to make masks, respirators and other medical equipment.

Trump, in the letter, pointed out that Rear Adm. John Polowczyk is in charge of the distribution of medical supplies.

On MSNBC Thursday night, Schumer told All In host Chris Hayes that he had explained the concerns expressed in his letter to the president during a conversation.

And this is what he has done in a letter to the senator in New York, Charles Schumer. You should have had NY much better prepared than you, and as Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx said yesterday, NY was very late in its fight against the virus.

"As you are aware, the Federal Government is merely a back-up for state governments", Trump continued. "It is desperately necessary, most experts agree that it is necessary and lives are at stake".

He accused Schumer of spending too much time on the "prosecution hoax", and said he might have been "focused on helping the people of NY".
