'Apex Legends' Old Ways trailer shows off its town takeover mode

Up until recently Apex Legends didn't have the option to select maps.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Respawn's chief operating officer and general manager for Apex Legends, Dusty Welch, said that crossplay for gamers on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is "important".

If you aren't the type to care about a bevy of new cosmetics in the Direct Purchase Shop then the real highlight of this event is the long-awaited inclusion of Duos as a permanent part of the Apex Legends experience.

But based on how other big launches have been handled, we would expect the new patch to be available for download by 8pm GMT. This affects the northwest portion of World's Edge with Prowlers roaming the area and centered around a nest. Complete the trials and you'll get access to high-tier loot. Be careful, though, as the rest of the legends will want to claim the loot waiting inside for themselves. None of these robots are found in "Apex Legends" but a fraction of the improved movement can be seen in the game's controls.

On top of the returning skins, there's also several new skins, including two Bloodhound skins, plus new skins for Gibraltar, Wattson and Crypto, many of which can be seen in the new event trailer, above.

Aside from these new goodies, this event is also permanently bringing back duos queue. We've been seeing a lot of positive feedback from players in regards to the prize track we introduced with Grand Soiree and continued with System Override.

As we get ready to take on the hunt in The Old Ways event, Apex Legends shows off some of the changes coming to the map in a new trailer.

"All 8 of the original Legendary Hunt Skins will be on offer for direct purchase in addition to 2 recolored variants of the Wraith and R-301 skins that were exclusive to battle pass owners", Respawn have explained. Various other cosmetics will be available in the shop, too, to check out, so be sure to grab them whenever you can.
