Suresh Raina Pledges Rs 52 Lakh in Fight Against COVID-19

Apart from affecting the human existence, the pandemic has also taken a toll on all major sporting events across the globe.

The Indian and Chennai Super Kings batsman tweeted earlier in the day that he has pledged Rs 52 lakh in the fight against coronavirus.


On Saturday, South Ganguly confirmed that BCCI and it's affiliated state associations have contributed Rs 51 crore towards Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund. "It's time we all do our bit to help defeat #COVID19".

"Sachin Tendulkar chose to contribute Rs 25 lakh each to Prime Minister's Relief Fund and Chief Minister's Relief Fund in his bid to join the fight against COVID-19".


Ajinkya Rahane, the vice-captain of India Test team, has donated Rs 10 lakh to the Maharastra Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic. "Jai Hind!#StayHomeIndia @narendramodi @PMOIndia @myogiadityanath", Raina tweeted.

Suresh Raina contributes whopping amount: The Indian batsman made the announcement on his official Twitter handle. He is now with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Currently, the coronavirus cases in India have crossed the 1000-mark amid the lockdown and 25 deaths have been reported so far in the country.


The all-rounder practiced with his CSK teammates MS Dhoni, Piyush Chawla, Ambati Rayudu during the first week of March before the camp was called off because of coronavirus outbreak.
