Searching for a console online at the moment presents you with constant "out of stock" messages; Target's wording actually says that the console is "discontinued for shipping". Now it's nearly just as hard to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch.

Best Buys listings vary; some are out of stock, others can only be found in curbside store pickup, though locations may be cleaned out.

Party Nintendo also apologized for the shortage and said that they continue to renew the portfolio in the future.

It will be interesting to see how long it will take for the Switch to outsell the Wii worldwide, the Wii ended up selling more than 101 million consoles. Goal, in the meantime, has instituted a 9 p.m. early closing time at its areas. Final week, Verizon reported that USA online game utilization throughout peak hours has gone up 75 % because the quarantine first went into impact. Pretty much any way you slice it, the Switch is definitely a success! OK, it isn't exactly breaking news, but it is still impressive exactly how well it is doing. New Horizons more than tripled the sales of the last entry in the Animal Crossing franchise, 2013's 3DS title Animal Crossing: New Leaf, in the country.
