The Clap For Our Carers campaign will see people across the United Kingdom applaud NHS workers from the doorsteps and windows of their homes to say thank you for all of their efforts during the current pandemic.

"Please join us on 26 March at 8pm for a big applause (from front doors, gardens, balconies, windows, living rooms, etc) to show all nurses, doctors, Global Positioning System and carers our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against the virus".

The campaign has been circulating widely on social media. They included Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one.

Residents in other European countries including Spain, France and Italy have taken part in similar rounds of applause to show gratitude for the work of their healthcare workers at this challenging time.

Watch the videos below to see how the clapping went around the area.

So pause your Zoom chat this evening and show some support for all the people working around the clock to keep us safe through this crisis.

They say the UK's frontline medical workers face an unprecedented challenge and the best thing the public can do in return, other than staying at home, is thank those risking their own health to help others. London landmarks are also expressing their support, including the London Eye, the Royal Albert Hall and the National Theatre.
