4-year-old Alabama girl located safe after missing for 48 hrs

The Lee County Sheriff's Office in Auburn issued a Missing Child Alert on Wednesday afternoon as authorities search for a missing 4-year-old girl who was last seen walking her dog. She was wearing a short-sleeve floral dress when she disappeared.

Evelyn Vadie Sides was last seen walking her red dog on the 5000 block of Lee Road 66 in Auburn Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. She has red hair and green eyes with a red mark on her nose.

He said the girl drank some Gatorade offered to her and was talking "like it was no big deal" what she had been through.


Authorities previously noted in the investigation that foul play was not suspected.

'We are just, ecstatic might be a good word. Jones said they are using air and ground searches to try to locate the girl.

"Our thanks just don't seem like enough, but they have our honest and heartfelt thanks for the sacrifices they made", he said.


Sheriff Jones said that all of the volunteers game with the one goal of finding the little girl.

"Several volunteers said this is such good news at a time when we need it" Jones said, '.and I couldn't agree more. The station reported that the dog initially ran away when rescuers approach, but later came home on its own.
