Watch Astronaut Christina Koch Reunite With Her Dog After a Year Apart

During a NASA press call Wednesday, Koch recalled what it was like to see Earth from space.

It's clear her adorable doggo is ecstatic to finally have her home.

Koch went on six spacewalks during the expeditions, including the first three all-women spacewalks.

Christina Koch, who is a NASA astronaut will descent two the planet earth on Thursday of 6, February, after having spent 328 days on the International Space Station.

Koch set a record for a woman's longest space flight and she participated in the first exclusively female spacewalk in October 2019.

Koch also revealed that she returned home to Galveston in Texas to a kitchen filled with her favorite food - chips, and salsa - and the first thing she did was relieve her cravings for it. "Not sure who was more excited", she wrote. The one who was there to greet her? Extended missions to the planned lunar orbiting space station, Gateway, will see both male and female astronauts in space for longer periods of time, and comprehensive studies of both men and women in microgravity situations will be critical for future exploration.

This time, when she saw the ocean, she wasn't floating above it 200 miles away in space.

Side-effects include a significant loss of bone density and a drop in muscle mass, Business Insider reported a year ago. "She's from the Humane Society and she couldn't be sweeter", Koch told CBS News.
