The CDC is working with airports to screen passengers inbound from areas with active coronavirus - as well, some people who have returned to the U.S. from China have been quarantined as a precautionary measure.

As fears over the coronavirus, known as 2019-nCoV, continue to rise - with the World Health Organization declaring a global health emergency - health experts maintain that Americans' true concern should be over this year's raging flu virus, which has infected 19 million in the United States and killed more than 10,000 people this season.

So far, the deaths caused by the flu have far surpassed the amount of cases caused by the novel coronavirus, which has killed more than 304 people, with 14,411 confirmed cases in China and 140 overseas. There has also been an increase in pediatric admissions related to the sickness in January, with 258 cases reported. China has closed transport in and outside of Wuhan, where the outbreak began.

The four other cases have been confirmed in Maricopa County, Arizona; Orange County and Los Angeles County California; and Snohomish County, Washington. Those tests turned out negative, said Stamp, and the person was released from the hospital Friday.

The CDC expects many more Americans could be soon diagnosed with the virus, which is believed to have an incubation period of about two weeks.

The CDC reports include symptoms such as cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body pain, headache, and fatigue. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

The H1N1 virus, commonly known as swine flu, is now the main source of flu infections in residential communities in Taiwan, accounting for 84.5 percent of the total, Chung said, and it will take one more week to determine whether flu infections have peaked or not.

The plane, which also carried six members, departed Wuhan before dawn on Wedneday before stopping to refuel in Anchorage, Alaska.

Currently, the passengers are under a voluntary 72-hour quarantine as officials check for signs and symptoms.

CENNIMO: It is recommended that people still get the flu vaccination if they have not already.

Lee Norman, KDHE Secretary, said in a statement.
