U.S. President Donald Trump bemoaned this year's Academy Award victor for best picture, "Parasite", on Thursday because it's a South Korean film.

"How bad were the Academy Awards this year?"

In case President Trump forgot, South Korea is technically an American ally, and North Korea is technically not. although he seems to see it differently.

NEON blows Trump back for criticizing the Oscar's victory & # 39 Parasite & # 39

"The victor is... a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about?" We got enough problems with South Korea, on trade, and on top of it they give it the best movie of the year. "On top of that, they give them the best movie of the year".

Trump said he didn't know if "Parasite" was good.

"He got up and said little wiseguy statements", Trump said of Pitt. Let's get Gone With the Wind, can we get Gone With the Wind back please? "'Sunset Boulevard, ' so many great movies", he said. The victor is from South Korea. I thought it was best foreign film. "Best foreign movie. Did this ever happen before?"

To answer his question, no, it didn't; that's kind of the point.

Neon, the distributor of "Parasite", took Trump's jabs in stride, tweeting that it was "understandable" that Trump couldn't comprehend the subtitled film.

Shortly after Trump's comments, the Rotten Tomatoes' Twitter account shared some useful information about the film's overwhelmingly positive critical reception as well as the many accolades it won including its four Oscars.

If you haven't seen Parasite yet, the film is still playing in theaters nationwide.

After winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in the 2020 ceremony, Pitt criticized Senate Republicans in his speech for voting against hearing additional testimony in Trump's impeachment trial.

Unlike many past presidents, he has hosted relatively few film screenings at the White House, though, among this year's slate of best picture nominees, he reportedly did screen - and like - the comic book smash "Joker." "Little wise guy. He's a little wise guy".
