That means the worldwide players at Euro 2020 may only have a couple of weeks of pre-season training after their post-tournament holidays, while Salah - if he takes part in the Olympics - will not play any part whatsoever in Liverpool's preparations for the new campaign.

Liverpool, however, aspire to stay clear of seeing their pre-season strategies in advance of the 2020-21 project interrupted by the lack of an essential male.

The Olympic football tournament is for under-23 teams but countries are allowed to select up to three players over that age.

"Salah is one of the top three players in the world and any team hopes to have a player of his capabilities and skills in the squad..."

"We can not force Salah to participate with us because Federation Internationale de Football Association regulations do not force him to participate".

Gharib added: "Salah's participation with the Pharaohs team is a decision to be taken only by Salah, his club Liverpool and his coach Jurgen Klopp".

Do you think Liverpool should release Salah for the Olympic Games?

The Reds are sure to win the Premier League this season, they also seem in a good position to retain the Champions League.

While Egypt might look for to require the concern when it comes to Salah's participation in their strategies, Liverpool are anticipated to persevere.

Mohamed Salah is set to miss a large chunk of next season and some Liverpool fans want the star sold in the summer.

In response to Salah's inclusion in the squad, the player's agent Ramy Abbas posted on Twitter that "no decision has been made yet" and Gharib said that view was correct.

Egypt are one of three African nations taking part in the Games, alongside Ivory Coast and South Africa, and will submit their final list of 18 players for the tournament in June.
