Red Bull has revealed the first shot of their new RB16 ahead of a shakedown at Silverstone on Wednesday.

Verstappen posted to his social media page ahead of his first laps in the vehicle, dubbed the RB16.

Unlike in previous years, Red Bull has opted against a camouflage livery for testing and instead has launched the vehicle with its planned race livery, which is unchanged from last season's design.

"Of course, it's just a filming day but the important thing is getting the vehicle running, finding out what it's like, discovering any minor issues - basically getting everything up to speed before we get to Barcelona", said Verstappen. Reigning world champions Mercedes will use one of its own on Friday for the first laps with its own 2020 vehicle.

The auto is more neatly packaged at the rear, too, in the second year of the Honda partnership, with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner telling RACER that this year's power unit is "a lovely installation".

Verstappen, third to the Mercedes pair in the Drivers' Championship, pledged his future to the team in the winter by signing a refreshed contract through 2023.

On Wednesday at Silverstone, Red Bull became the first team to run their new auto on track in one of their designated 2020 filming days in which running is limited to 100km.

Red Bull Formula One team principal Christian Horner has praised the relationship between his team and power unit supplier Honda ahead of preseason testing in Barcelona. With a major rules revamp set to come into force for 2021, Red Bull's auto launch follows the trend of the others seen so far in being an evolution and not a revolution of its previous concept.
