At the end of Stranger Things 3, it was broadly hinted that "the American" held captive in Russian Federation was a familiar face.

Nextflix showed "Stranger Things" viewers a little love on Valentine's Day with a "Stranger Things 4" announcement.

In case you haven't guessed, it's none other than the former police chief of Hawkins, Indiana, Jim Hopper (David Harbour) - and he sure doesn't look too happy.

After much speculation, it looks as if the most popular fan theory has been confirmed: "The American" is Hopper, alive and probably in need of an elaborate rescue mission. "We don't know yet, we don't know", the actor said during German Comic-Con.

It's not all good news, though, as Hopper is "imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human. and other", they continued. Why did Hopper lose all his hair? "Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything", the wrote.

If you, like me, figured that there were multiple possibilities that could see Hopper show up in Stranger Things Season 4, you're in luck!

Last year, Netflix announced that the sci-fi series had been renewed for a fourth season - as the series' creators and showrunners The Duffer Brothers to a multi-year film and series overall deal.

Stranger Things, set in the 1980s, follows the attempts made by a group of teenagers and adults as they try to battle an evil monster - who comes from the underworld known as the Upside Down - in their small home town. "In the meantime, pray for the American". Share your thoughts in the comments section below! This affiliate advertising program also provides a means to earn fees by linking to and affiliated sites.
