Reports emerged that Spurs were considering an audacious move to bring the 30-year-old back to north London during the January transfer window, though Bale's agent has denied that there was a formal approach from the club about a Premier League return for Bale.

The agent of Gareth Bale, Jonathan BarnettHe explained that the soccer player is happy in Madrid and that it is not for a matter of money, but for quality of life and for his family. "In two and a half years your contract ends and we will decide what we will do".

Additionally, Barnett points out the fact that most clubs may not be able to afford Bale's asking price. They have also reached two Champions League finals, though lost out on both occasions to Real Madrid. "It's not all about money, it's his lifestyle, his children have grown up in Spain". He was not included in the matchday for the weekend derby win over Atletico Madrid and fans are now left wondering.

Trippier joins a lengthy injury list at Atletico, including star frontman Alvaro Morata who picked up a muscle injury in his right leg against Real Madrid on Saturday.

"The only people who really know what's going on are Mr, Zidane, Gareth and probably the president".

"I think people don't know anything about what's going on", Barnett added.

He asserted that Bale still believes that his future lies in Real Madrid. As he doesn't do press, he doesn't give a lot of interviews and he's a quiet person he's become a sitting target for them.

"People write articles, make comments, and they have no idea what they're talking about, and they themselves probably wouldn't do it (leave Real Madrid)".
