Fans were asked to vote for their picks from the treble-winning Red Devils squad and the Reds' title-challenging squad.

And Sky Sports has confirmed the starting XI based on the voting results and the players that were named as substitutes.

As the search for "Things Virgil van Dijk Can't Do" goes on, we now know we can tick free kicks off the list, after a video emerged of the centre back pinging inch-perfect set-pieces in training.

While the likes of Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are vital in their own right, Liverpool have generally fared well without them in the side.

You chose six Manchester United players in the combined XI, including the full four-man midfield that helped Sir Alex Ferguson's team to the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the 1998/99 season.

Many fans took to Twitter section to argue that the 28-year-old should be given the chance at Liverpool, having scored some superb free-kicks during his time at Celtic.

Reds captain Jordan Henderson and last season's PFA award victor Virgil van Dijk are the two names I would be considering if I was getting voting forms through from the PFA and if pushed to make a pick, captain fantastic Henderson would win it by a short head.

Van Dijk's presence at the back has also been credited as part of the reason for Joe Gomez's promising rise along with the impressive development of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson.

It is a question Klopp will not want to answer and that's why I suggest Van Dijk is even more crucial to Liverpool than Henderson. "Nobody would get past them", the former England boss said. "When you look at the Manchester United team, that's the leadership in the whole team, and leadership was the key".

"Liverpool is developing that now".
