Liverpool get 16th straight win in Premier League

Klopp's remarks came after the league leader's 4-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday. Liverpool then kicked on and were able to control the game and hit their stride. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gave the hosts the lead before Jordan Henderson made it two, with the skipper continuing his phenomenal run of form. In truth, it was a harsh scoreline for Southampton, who battled really well at Anfield.

But having said that, it would really take something special for Juventus to lure the centre-back out of Liverpool especially when the Reds still are being managed by Jurgen Klopp. It's deserved because we score the goals, but what a team. Not a second. It seemed as if we lose if we lose.

"That is why I will be judged, if we don't win it in my final period here, that I will be a failure here". That helped massively and when we are rolling it's hard to stop.

Liverpool brought in Virgil Van Dijk in the January transfer window of 2018 from Southampton and the Reds look a completely different side with him in the starting line-up.

"It must be courageous at that moment to say goal, so it's no penalty here at Anfield. And that's what we have, so all good for the moment".

And maybe this is why Juventus are preparing a humungous bid to sign Virgil Van Dijk from Liverpool at the end of the 2019-20 season. "We played the best we can so I am very proud".

Liverpool FC have earned 73 points after 25 games, which is a feat no other team in Europe's major five leagues has previously achieved.

Statistically, Liverpool still require seven more wins to wrap up the Premier League, but Pep Guardiola and soon-to-be-usurped defending champions City will already have one eye on regrouping in the summer and going again with a clean slate for the 2020-21 campaign.

Klopp went on to praise the Brazilian for taking a "big step" forward against Southampton, as he stepped into a holding role which allowed Henderson to push forward and link up with Liverpool's front three.
