Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) chief executive officer Jeff Bezos is being sued by his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez's brother for defamation. It accuses Bezos and de Becker of telling journalists that Michael Sanchez provided graphic nude photographs of the Amazon CEO to the tabloid.

Michael claims he suffered damages because of the Bezos' claim, with his house being searched by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in full view of his neighbors, according to the report. Among its other claims, Sanchez's suit says Lauren Sanchez and Bezos, the founder of Amazon and the world's richest man, kept their affair secret on the advice of a psychic.

In January 2019, the National Enquirer exposed Bezos' extramarital affair with Lauren, including text messages between them.

A lawyer for Bezos, William Isaacson, said Bezos would respond to the accusations in court.

The lawsuit said Bezos and de Becker spread a "false narrative" that Sanchez had betrayed his sister by selling the story to the tabloid.

Jeff Bezos' affair returned to news when The Guardian reported that it was "highly probable" that Saudi Arabia hacked Bezos' phone in May 2018, which the Saudi government has denied. The tabloid also later claimed to have nude photos of Bezos but it never published them. He secretly provided my most personal information to the National Enquirer - a deep and unforgivable betrayal. Gavin de Becker for unspecified damages.

Lauren, however, described her brother's lawsuit against Bezos as "baseless and untrue". Bezos, who owns The Washington Post, suggested that the Saudis had been angry over the newspaper's coverage of the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi dissident and columnist for The Post who was murdered by Saudi assassins weeks after writing critically of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the paper. "It's also possible that Saudi Arabia may have hacked Bezos' phone, though that's not a certainty", reports The Verge. Last month, the results of a forensic analysis commissioned by Bezos became public.

The phone's security was compromised after he opened a malicious video file sent from the crown prince's number on his WhatsApp, it said.

"It seems likely that Michael Sanchez is the primary source for the National Enquirer's story".

Months after the report, Jeff Bezos and former wife MacKenzie announced divorce and entered into a settlement in April 2019.

At the time the Bezos story was published, AMI was already operating under a non-prosecution agreement with the Manhattan US attorney's office, after admitting its role in hush-money payments made to women who allegedly had affairs with President Donald Trump.

Bezos in February a year ago accused the publisher of National Enquirer, an American tabloid published by American Media Inc (AMI), of "blackmail" and "extortion".
