The Clippers to apparently authorize Reggie Jackson after acquistion from Pistons as well as beat Lakers in race for his trademark.

This buyout should workout for both parties.

Jackson can be a big piece to the Clippers as they gun for the championship.

Jackson appears to be a consolation prize after Collison's decision to stay off the court. He's played in 12 of the Pistons' last 13 games.

Jackson's departure opens up slots for the younger guards of the Pistons. Jackson provides ball handling skills while also have the opportunity to make some plays. As Perkins pointed out, it was the Clippers who recently made the same type of moves. "I just don't see where Reggie is fitting in there".

The Reggie Jackson era in Detroit is over. Clippers' backcourt is pretty crowded, Jackson would need some injuries on the team to get significant minutes.

I've been a sports fan since 1991 after I watched Michael Jordan play for the first time and a sports writer for over 10 years.

Jackson was in the final year of a five-year, $80M pact he signed with Detroit in the summer of 2015. He will become an unrestricted free agent after this season ends. Actually pretty surprised nobody traded for him as an expiring contract asset over the trade deadline.
