It has been a long while since we last saw a Prince of Persia game grace our consoles and PCs.

In September of past year, VRFocus reported on Ubisoft building a team specifically for virtual reality (VR) content development, with a lot of the positions at its Dusseldorf office - formerly Ubisoft Blue Byte.

Ubisoft confirmed that it will be bringing a Prince of Persia VR escape room to more than 300 locations around the world. The Dagger of Time project will be curated by the authors of Ubisoft Dusseldorf and will see teams made up of two, three or four players committed to collaborating to solve environmental puzzles in the hope, thus, of coming out of a reimagined version of the Fortress of Time. Also similar to the games, Ubisoft says it has tried to incorporate some amount of the verticality and traps the games are known, but that the focus is on time control. Price of Persia will have a unique mechanic though, with the Dagger of Time being able to bend and shape reality to create a "one of a kind" experience. The puzzles will require players to interact with objects in their vicinity, climb, and use certain powers, such as the time control. "Time control is only part of the immersion as we transport players to experience larger-than-life adventures in our games". You'll likewise need to watch on Kaileena, the Empress of Time, and her army of sand beasts.

The news comes after Ubisoft announced earlier this month that it will be releasing five triple-A games before April 2021. Players can work together to stop the Magi. If Greek mythos is more your thing, then you'll be delighted with Beyond Medusa's Gate, an hour long experience based on the latest Assassin's Creed title, Odyssey. Additional details about this and the details of the game can be found here on the official Ubisoft website.
